The StereoMicroscope is a highly useful piece of optical equipment utilized within the preparation lab of the MME section. This equipment provides good imaging with the ability to alternate the illumination from bright field (BF) to dark field (DF). This microscope provides good depth of field which allows for a high lateral resolution. 

In addition to BF and DF this microscope  has access to Single-Side Dark Field with Rotterdam contrast and Constant Colour Intensity Control (CCIC).

This microscope has the ability to perform image enhancement which allows greater colour gradient across the image providing high resolution and a sharp contrast of the microstructural features. 

The microscope has the ability to make dimensional measurements upon the sample surface by simply clicking the area to be measured.
